Immaculata High School Statement of Philosophy

• We, at Immaculata High School, are an outreach of Immaculate Conception Parish and exist for the catechesis and education of the young women of this parish community.
• We believe in the redemptive power of Christ, experienced in the Sacraments and Liturgy.
• We honor Mary, under the title of the Immaculate Help of Christians, and inculcate in ourselves and in our students a strong yet loving devotion to her.
• We live the spirituality of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello as articulated in the Preventive System of education and strive to live the Salesian Family Spirit.
• We adhere to the policies and standards given by the Archdiocese of New Orleans under the guidance of Archbishop Alfred Hughes and supported by Fr. Warren Cooper, pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish.
• We educate as a Salesian School, under the administration of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco) and apply the Statement of Beliefs for the Salesian School.
• We recognize our role as partners with the parents in the formation and the education of their children.
• We believe that all students can learn and learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.
• We strive to provide an environment that is conducive to learning that fosters critical thinking, that instills values, and that nurtures the faith life of the young person.
